Key Personnel

Edwin W. Finch, III, President & CEO, received his undergraduate degree in Economics and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Virginia.  He began his career as a Wall Street attorney, and later went on to become a partner with the law firm of Balch & Bingham in Birmingham.  Mr. Finch has been actively involved in mergers, acquisitions, and corporate finance for over 40 years. His transactional experience includes the purchase and sale of publicly traded companies as well as smaller privately held companies across a broad spectrum of industries.  He has represented both domestic and international clients in their acquisition and divestiture activities and has provided financial advice to early stage and mature businesses.  Mr. Finch has served as a director of both public and private companies and had founded, purchased, owned and managed a number of companies in the United States.

Michael G. Mahon, Vice President,  joined FHL Capital in 2005.  Mr. Mahon received his undergraduate degree in Commerce from the University of Virginia.  He began his career as an Associate with New Capital Partners, a Birmingham-based private equity firm.  Mr. Mahon has over eight years of experience with mergers, acquisitions, and corporate finance with companies across a broad range of industries.  During his career Mr. Mahon has advised a wide variety of clients, from market leaders to start-up ventures.  He has represented both domestic and international clients in their M&A and related activities.  During his tenure at FHL Capital, Mr. Mahon has advised over 35 clients on transactions with aggregate value in excess of $1.5 billion.

Kevin J. Keck, Senior Associate, received his undergraduate degree in Accounting from the University of Northern Iowa. He has served in Controller and Chief Financial Officer roles in a variety of industries, including insurance, construction and manufacturing. In these roles, Mr. Keck has overseen Finance and Accounting, Purchasing, Human Resources, and Risk Management functions. Mr. Keck has been associated with FHL Capital since 1996. Through the years he has had extensive experience in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and valuations. Mr. Keck has also been heavily involved in preparing businesses for transactions, modeling, and due diligence. Mr. Keck is involved in the Birmingham Venture Club and is active in various community initiatives, including historic preservation and recycling. 
 
April H. DeLuca, Associate, joined FHL Capital in 2012. April received her undergraduate degree in Accounting, Summa Cum Laude, from Auburn University at Montgomery and her Juris Doctor from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University. Prior to attending law school, April began her career as an accountant at a public accounting firm in Montgomery, Alabama. As an associate with FHL Capital, April will focus on legal review, financial analysis, and business development.

Watson McCollister, Senior Analyst/Director for Senior Housing, received his undergraduate degree from College of Charleston in 2004 and has a background in commercial real estate brokerage. In 2007, Mr. McCollister created Senturian Senior Housing Brokerage, a company that specializes exclusively in selling senior housing facilities. As broker and president of the company, he has sold and leased skilled nursing, assisted living and independent living facilities in several states around the country.
